On the A9 near Gratkorn – the truck driver changed lanes, then there was a crash

When a truck driver wanted to change lanes on the A9 near Gratkorn on Friday afternoon, a driver raced up – a collision occurred. The 46-year-old from Graz had to be taken to the UKH-Graz and hospitalized there.

A 44-year-old Hungarian truck driver was driving in the first lane of the A9 towards Graz around 3:30 p.m. He started to overtake and changed lanes. According to his own statements, he made sure that this was possible safely by looking in the mirror. When he was almost entirely in the second lane, the 46-year-old driver from Graz approached from behind. The truck driver later stated that the other party in the accident was traveling at excessive speed. The collision was unavoidable. The Hungarian tried to steer his truck back into the first lane, but the two vehicles collided. When the two accident vehicles collided, parts of the vehicle were thrown into the oncoming lane, causing another car to be damaged. The Gratkorn-Markt fire department is on duty with six vehicles and 25 personnel.
