Asfinag employees saw on their screens that a car had entered the Neumarkt tunnel in the opposite direction of travel and then had the entire tunnel chain closed. Fortunately, there was no other vehicle in the tunnel at the time. Admitted to misconduct. The 47-year-old wrong-way driver from the Czech Republic stopped after exiting the tunnel at the “Pernau SÜD” reversal station, where she was greeted by an oncoming police patrol.
