On the Nordschleife – accessories bring Porsche Cayman six seconds!

Porsche offers a Manthey Kit for the 718 Cayman GT4 RS that is specially optimized for use on circuits. On the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring, this saved him more than six seconds in a record run.

The 500 hp GT4 RS with Manthey Kit completed the lap with Jörg Bergmeister at the wheel in 7:03.121 minutes. This makes it exactly 6.179 seconds faster than the 718 Cayman GT4 RS without the kit. Aerodynamic and chassis components in particular are modified. Pads designed for circuit use are optionally available for the high-performance braking system. The new kit was specially developed for track days and in close cooperation between the engineers from Porsche Motorsport and the Nordschleife specialists from Manthey in Meuspath. The retrofittable, street-legal components are sold through Porsche Centers worldwide. Almost twice the contact pressure At the front of the vehicle, flaps and new air curtains with wheel housing gurneys and a new carbon underbody with diffusers improve downforce at the front end. The rear wing, which is 85 millimeters wider with a new wing blade and larger end plates, increases downforce on the rear axle. It can be adjusted in four stages. In order to be able to withstand the increased aerodynamic forces, the body frame of the boot lid was reinforced with visible carbon. The aerodiscs on the rear wheels, also made of CFRP, reduce the turbulence at the rear and round off the aerodynamics package visually. They can be individualized with an optionally available decorative foil. At a speed of 200 km/h, the total downforce in the performance position of the rear wing increases from 89 to 169 kilograms for circuit use developed in an upside-down design. The spring struts are four-way adjustable, rebound and compression can be adjusted without tools. The spring rates on the front axle have been increased by twenty percent. The chassis is available in two variants for vehicles with and without a lift system on the front axle. The kit comes standard with a steel braided brake line set. This promises a very precise pressure point and thus optimal controllability of the brake. Optionally, there are special racing brake pads with particularly constant friction behavior over a wide temperature range. Illuminated door sills with the Manthey logo contribute to visual customization. Towing loops are optionally available especially for use on the circuit. Even more downforce for the rear The kit can optionally be expanded with a specially designed CFRP rear spoiler attachment. The attachment made of visible carbon is placed on the standard tear-off edge of the boot lid. In combination with the larger rear wing, the downforce on the rear axle increases by a further four percent. The performance is underlined visually by the also optional louvres (wheel arch ventilation) made of visible carbon in the front fenders. They are tailored to the look of the Weissach package.More than six seconds faster on the NordschleifeWith Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister at the wheel, the modified GT athlete lapped the 20.8-kilometer circuit in the Eifel at 18 degrees and overcast in 7: 03.121 minutes – 6.179 seconds faster than the standard 718 Cayman GT4 RS around a year earlier. Both vehicles were equipped with the optionally available Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres. The lap time has been certified by a notary. The market launch is planned for December 2023. The factory warranty of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS remains intact.
