Samsung has discreetly introduced its Galaxy A04, a new entry-level phone that should land with an aggressive price
If the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 were obviously the stars of the summer at Samsung, the rest of the range should not be overlooked. And precisely, a small renewal begins to take place at the level of affordable phones from the Korean giant: here, it is the Galaxy A04.
Last year, Samsung had discreetly introduced its predecessor in the middle of Black Friday, on the sly. The group continues in this momentum with the Galaxy A04, whose technical sheet undergoes almost no changes. In terms of design, however, note the absence of a photo block.
Change of sensor
The main 50 megapixel (f/1.8) sensor – compared to 48 megapixels last year – is associated with a 2 megapixel (f/2.4) depth sensor for portrait modes. On the front, they are accompanied by a 5-megapixel sensor. Very few changes also in terms of dimensions: 164.4 x 76.3 x 9.1 mm, for 192 grams in total.
In principle, the Galaxy A04 is a hair longer by “0.2 mm”. A tiny difference. Its 6.5-inch LCD screen is based on an HD + definition, without knowing the refresh rate. It would be a safe bet that 60 Hz is in order, even if a frequency of 90 Hz would be a nice surprise.
An unknown price
Finally, you have to count on a nice 5000 mAh battery and a software experience based on Android 12. The official page of the phone does not specify the nature of the processor. But Xataca put on an Exynos 850, associated with 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM, with 32, 64 or 128 GB of storage. Again, Samsung needs to clarify.
As for the price, the mystery remains. But we suspect that it will be aggressive in view of the price of the Galaxy A03 available today at 159 euros. The Galaxy A04 should stay in its waters there. Its availability has also not been announced.
