THE SUNDAY FILM
Located between Revenge of the Sith (Episode III) and A New Hope (Episode IV), Rogue one takes us alongside ordinary individuals who will have to steal the plans of the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. As its title indicates, the film wants to be a “marginal”, a free electron which is detached from its entity of origin to go it alone. In this sense, it was notably designed in a more realistic perspective, with less magic and Strength, more battles, and especially without the famous scrolling text in the introduction.
A bet that won over the public since Rogue one became the 37th film in the history of cinema to reach the billion dollar mark in global box office receipts. On AlloCiné, he obtains an average of spectator ratings of 4.1 out of 5; this is the best movie average in the Star Wars universe, just behind the original trilogy.
