iCloud adds two-factor authentication to Windows
Recently, users of the famous community platform Reddit found that the Windows version of iCloud has benefited from the addition of a new feature. Indeed, iCloud’s password manager now allows Windows 10 and Windows 11 customers to generate two-factor authentication codes. Note that to take advantage of the “iCloud Passwords” function on Windows, from a Chromium-based web browser, you must install the “iCloud Passwords” extension, which can be found in particular in the Chrome Web Store.
As a reminder, it will soon be a year since single-use codes for iCloud were integrated within the Apple ecosystem, more precisely since the deployment of iOS 15 on iPhone and macOS Monterey. Fortunately, the Cupertino company will not have taken too long before deploying the 2FA codes for Windows. Finally, if iCloud is supported by Windows 7, only Windows 10 and 11 can take advantage of it.
