One Galaxy A can hide another: Samsung’s Galaxy A15 is also official

Samsung is launching two new entry-level smartphones in France, in time for them to find their place under the Christmas trees: the Galaxy A05s and Galaxy A25 5G. But a third model, which has not yet been announced in France, has also been made official by the South Korean. The Galaxy A15 was in fact unveiled by the Vietnamese branch of the brand; we can hope that it will be announced later on the French market, as the Galaxy A14 (in 4G and 5G versions) was marketed there in 2023.

A page put online a little in advance by the Walmart reseller had already revealed Samsung’s little secrets. The announcement which has just been published therefore confirms the technical sheet of this Galaxy A15 which, like its predecessor, is available in two versions, one 4G, the other compatible with 5G. This is what justifies the main technical difference between the two smartphones: the 4G model is equipped with a well-known chip, the Helio G99 from MediaTek, also used in the Galaxy A24 of 2022, while its companion benefits from a Dimensity 6100+, also provided by MediaTek. Whatever the version of the mobile, count on 8 GB of RAM. The storage amounts to 128 or 256 GB for the 4G model, and 256 GB only for the 5G, always with support for a microSD card.

An Amoled screen and an extensive update policy

The Galaxy A15 also benefits from a notable improvement when compared to the Galaxy A14: its two versions are equipped with a 6.6-inch Full HD+ Amoled panel, where its predecessors were satisfied with an LCD screen, and have a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The smartphone turns out to be classic for the rest: we find a 5000 mAh battery – which we still note that it becomes compatible with charging at 25 W – as well as a triple photo module. In addition to a 50 megapixel main module, a 5 megapixel sensor associated with an ultra wide-angle and a 2 Mpx sensor supplemented by macro optics are integrated. Let’s add that the A15, like the A25, is included in the list of Samsung smartphones that the manufacturer promises will get four major Android updates and five years of security patches. The Galaxy A14 was content with two years of upgrades.

The Galaxy A15 4G and 5G will be marketed in Vietnam from December 16, starting at 4,990,000 dong (around €190 excluding tax) for the first, and 6,290,000 dong (around €240 excluding tax) for the second. As a reminder, the Galaxy A14 debuted in France from €219 (4G) and €249 (5G); enough to get an idea of the price to expect for his successors.
