Since the government ended fuel aid – in effect from April 2022 until the end of the year – the prices of diesel, unleaded 95 and unleaded 98 have come closer 2 euros per litre. A price that had already been reached at the beginning of the summer.
The aid introduced by the government to try to stem the rise in fuel prices has gradually been reduced. From 30 cents per liter at the pump in April, it was lowered to 10 cents in mid-November. Same fate for the discount in the stations of the Total group, where the rebate of 20 cents per liter was halved in November.
The new government device, called “fuel allowance”, consists of a check for 100 euros. Paid in one go, it is aimed at the 10 million French people with a reference tax income of less than 14,700 euros in 2021. The aid is not paid automatically, it can be requested until February 28.
