The Wakfu license is no longer to be presented as it has made and still makes people talk about it. To be found, currently, via a TV series, a comic strip and even via an MMORPG, Ankama has planned to release a new game, in the Wakfu universe. This is’a strategic deck builderresponding to the name of One More Gate: A Wakfu Legend (also called, more simply “One More Gate”).
Via this new title, players will be led to explore different worlds, in order to master the power of Wakfu. Obviously, their journey will be strewn with pitfalls and many enemies will put a spoke in the wheels of the protagonist. Like any good deck builder, these are cards which will allow you to perform various actions (attack, defense, etc.). It will, moreover, be possible to expand your deck as the adventure progresses. Note also that levels will be procedurally generated.
About the software, the CEO and co-founder of Ankama, Anthony Roux, said:
With One More Gate, we created a fusion of the gameplay elements we wanted to play by blending exciting exploration, fun combat, and strategic card deck building. This cocktail, in our opinion, will hook the players for the long term. We also wanted to expand the already very rich universe of the Wakfu license with this new game in order to renew the experience for our millions of fans, while introducing deck-building enthusiasts to the wonderful world of Wakfu!
As part of this year’s Steam Next Fest, a demo of One More Gate: A Wakfu Legend is currently available, and has been since June 13, on said platform. The title will arrive in early access on PC, in August. Final version is, in turn, planned for 2023on PC and Nintendo Switch.
