Netflix has just hosted one of its biggest films of the month of March, a highly explosive feature film inspired by a great classic.

Netflix productions are being released with a vengeance and as the month of March 2024 draws to a close, the platform is releasing one of its biggest films, on the wire. While very big blockbusters like The Lady and the Dragon, have already blown everything up, a new big-budget action film is ready to blow everything up. The icing on the cake is that it’s made in France and it’s the expected remake of a great classic.

A big film from March 2024 finally available on Netflix

At the end of March, France is in the spotlight with the remake of the muscular action film The Wages of Fear, a great classic from yesteryear here revisited and modernized. We follow a band of heavyweights having to cross a vast hostile zone while transporting an astronomical quantity of highly volatile explosives: nitroglycerin. At the slightest shock, everything explodes. Of course, the trip is clearly not going to be easy. The first film, now considered a true classic, dates from the 1950s and stars such illustrious actors as Yves Montand, Charles Vanel, Folco Lulli and Peter Van Eyck. A Franco-Italian film directed by the legendary Henri-Georges Clouzot (The crow, Headquarters).

For this Netflix remake of The Wages of Fear, it’s Alban Lenoir, seen in Lost bullet or AKAGaston Gastambide (Pattaya), Ana Girardot and Sofiane Zermani who will be on the bill. Behind the camera, we find Julien Leclercq who already has several popular films to his credit such as Braqueurs or L’Assaut, muscular action films. It now remains to be seen whether this remake of The Wages of Fear will be as impactful as its model, in any case, it should guarantee quite an adrenaline rush if the trailer is to be believed.
