One Piece by Netflix: Inaki Godoy (Luffy) plays in two other series on the platform and you probably didn’t recognize him!

Did you know that the interpreter of Luffy (Inaki Godoy) had played in two other Netflix series? No ? Don’t panic, we tell you which ones!

At 20, Mexican actor Inaki Godoy landed the role that will most likely change his career. He is the headliner of the live action One Piece adaptation produced by Netflix, now visible on the platform. He has also made everyone agree – including the mangaka Eiichiro Oda – with his interpretation of Luffy, a cheerful young boy who has the power to stretch his limbs like a rubber band.

If his name will probably be on everyone’s lips with the success of One Piece, the interpreter of Luffy is not at his first attempt. He is at the start of a promising career and it is thanks to Netflix that he owes it: Inaki has indeed collaborated with the streaming platform on two different projects.

Between 2021 and 2022 he had a small role in the Mexican hit Who Killed Sara, a three-season thriller that kept subscribers spellbound. He plays Bruno, Sofia’s son and member of the Lazcano family, whose father figure he rejects. If he shoots here in his mother tongue, Inaki Godoy also masters English perfectly.

The Mexican actor proves it by then landing his first role in an American production, entitled The Imperfects, of which here is the synopsis: after an experimental gene therapy has transformed them into monsters, three young people in their twenties unite to hunt down the scientist responsible and compel him to turn them human again.

In the guise of Juan Ruiz, Inaki Godoy plays the superhero in this fantastic series tinged with humor. Released last year on the platform, The Imperfects unfortunately did not meet with the expected success since the series was canceled after 1 season. A blessing in disguise for the young actor who immediately bounced back by passing the casting of One Piece with flying colors.
