This year’s Anime Expo kicked off on Friday, July 1 and wrapped up a few hours ago as of this writing. During this weekend, players, fans or not of the universe of Eiichirō Oda, were able to get their hands on One Piece Odyssey, which has been in development for more than five years. For the occasion, Bandai Namco and ILCA organized a stream (taken over by Gematsu), then offering a good overview of the software.
The gameplay sequence thus allows us to know and see a little more about the game mechanics offered in One Piece Odyssey. As we already knew, especially thanks to the dev diary, the skills playable characters will be usable in combat, but also during exploration phases. Moreover, they will be the key to passing certain obstacles or solving puzzles, according to the latest information shared.
About the fights, remember that One Piece Odyssey offers turn-based battles. Additionally, players will need to compose and place Straw Hat’s crew members wisely, in order to eliminate the various creatures they encounter. In addition, it will be necessary to pay attention to status effects, which can grant buffs or debuffs.
One Piece Odyssey is scheduled for this year 2022. We do not yet have a precise release date. In contrast, the title must land on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series and PC.As soon as the ILCA studio and/or Bandai Namco reveal the official release date of One Piece Odyssey, we will of course keep you informed.
