The Tokyo Game Show was an opportunity for Bandai Namco to make multiple announcements. Among them, the release date of a highly anticipated JRPG by fans of the license. And despite its announcement a few months earlier, One Piece Odyssey is being pushed back to the year 2023. However, the postponement is not huge since the game will be available from January 13. The wait will therefore not be too long before being able to discover the adventures of Luffy and his crew.
Along with the release date, Bandai Namco went into a bit more detail about the JRPG’s story. Many legends exist in this world, but that of Waford Island remains one of the strangest. A mysterious island from which no one would ever have returned, except for a pirate who told his story. According to him, a giant accompanied by a child resides on this land. But after him, no one ever returned from their expedition to the island.
Announced for the end of 2022, but without a precise release date, it is especially surprising to see One Piece Odyssey postponed to 2023. Fortunately, this postponement remains very short since the game will be available from the first days of the next year. This should allow the development team to better prepare the ground, and especially to polish the game before its release.
