One Piece Red: a date for the cinema release of the new film of the anime saga

We finally know the release date in France for the new feature film based on the One Piece phenomenon!

Pirate Luffy fans rejoice! One Piece Red, the next film in the franchise, will land in France on August 10, 2022, just four days after Japan!

After One Piece Stampede, released in 2019, this new work will focus on Shanks, nicknamed Le Roux.

This character is the captain of the Le Roux crew and one of the Four Emperors. He is also a former member of the legendary Pirates Roger, the only group to have successfully conquered the Grand Line.

Although relatively discreet in the anime, he is the pirate who inspired Luffy, the main character of the series created by Eiichiro Oda.

The story of this new work follows Luffy and his crew. The latter are preparing to attend an eagerly awaited music festival.

The most popular singer in the world, Uta, will take the stage for the first time. The one who is none other than the daughter of the legendary pirate Shanks Le Roux will reveal the exceptional power of her voice which could well change the world.

The feature film was written by Tsutomu Kuroiwa (One Piece Gold), all overseen by the author of the original manga. It is directed by Goro Taniguchi (Code Geass Lelouch of the Resurrection).

First published in 1997, One Piece has become the best-selling manga in the world with 490 million copies sold to date.

The 100th volume of the adventures of Luffy was published on December 8 in France, to the delight of fans. The 101st has been available since May 4 from Glénat editions.

Otakus can also revel in the 1000 episodes of the animated adaptation, online on DNA. Also note that a live action series will soon see the light of day on Netflix with Iñaki Godoy in the role of Monkey D. Luffy. The license still has a bright future ahead of it.
