ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition: Insta360 takes its 360° camera to the next level

2

Insta360 is clearly moving upmarket by equipping its newest 360° camera, the ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition, with 1-inch sensors. Versatile and modular, this novelty does not want to compromise.

1 inch sensor and 360° video in 6K

Insta360 continues to renew its range of action-cams and 360° cameras. After the ONE RS – 4K boost, the Chinese firm is launching the ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition. This camera developed in partnership with Leica is a bit special since it is now based on two 1-inch CMOS sensors, a very large format for cameras of this size. The two sensors can capture 21 megapixel photos, but especially 360 ° videos up to 6K and 24 fps. This allows a lot of latitude for editing and cropping for lovers of 360° sequences. The new sensors are supported by a good dose of AI, especially when capturing photos in HDR.

A modular camera

In terms of design, Insta360 retains the initial modularity, but the 360° module is now installed vertically in a small handle. It no longer has the format of a classic action camera, but looks more like a “normal” 360° camera. The camera, IPX3 certified, is resistant to snow and rain splashes.

Insta360 highlights the great flexibility of its system, which can be installed almost anywhere and has a function to automatically erase the support, for ever more successful integration. Post-production is also simplified and you can edit 360° videos in a few moments from the mobile application. To fine-tune their edits, amateur or professional videographers can then turn to the computer software or the Adobe Premiere Pro plug-in.

Price and availability

The Insta360 ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition is available on the Insta360 website. It is sold for 940 €. Several kits with handle and memory card are charged 980 and even 1009 €. An upgrade pack for ONE R and ONE RS users is available for €770.
