As you may know, the Galaxy S23s are expected on February 1, 2023 if the latest rumors are to be believed. In addition, we recently learned from our colleagues on the XDA Developers site that Samsung’s next flagships will be equipped with One UI 5.1, the new version of the manufacturer’s Android-based home overlay.

Furthermore, it was confirmed that One UI 5.1 will also be rolled out to older devices from the South Korean firm. Tests have already started on the Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra, as revealed by our colleagues from the SamMobile site last week.

However, and still according to the media, the company is currently testing the new version of its interface on Galaxy Z Fold 4 in South Korea. Launched in August 2022, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 was powered by Android 12L with One UI 4.1.1, and the foldable device just got Android 13 and One UI 5.0 a few weeks ago.

Regarding the Galaxy Z Fold 4 One UI 5.1 test firmware, it has the version number F936 NKSU1 CVLH. The use of the letter C in the last group indicates that the firmware includes the 3rd major update of One UI on the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

For now, not much is known yet about the One UI 5.1 additions. In a press release issued in October 2022, Samsung referred to more lock screen and notification window customization options. In addition, it had previously been announced that features missing from One UI 5.0 would be integrated into future versions of the overlay. It is therefore a safe bet that we will find some of them on One UI 5.1.

As a reminder, we learned on January 3, 2023 that Samsung does not intend to increase the prices of the Galaxy S23 compared to the S22. Good news for those who feared a price increase on the brand’s future flagships.
