Samsung has just deployed the stable version of the new One UI 6.0 update in France on the Galaxy S23. They can now benefit from the latest features introduced on Android 14.
Several weeks after the start of the beta of One UI 6.0, the new version of Samsung’s in-house overlay based on Android 14, the Korean giant has finally deployed the stable version of the update on a few smartphones in France.
Our Galaxy S23 Ultra has just received the new version, so it should also be available for other devices in the series within the next few hours. Samsung should notify you with a notification when the update is available, but you may well find it more quickly by manually going to the options on your smartphone.
How to download and install One UI 6.0 on your Samsung smartphone?
To install the One UI 6.0 update based on Android 14 on your eligible Samsung smartphone, first make sure the battery is more than 50% charged to avoid interrupting the update process. We also advise you install this update while connected to your Wi-Fias it could well use a large part of your data envelope, then follow the following procedure:
- Go to the menu Settings
- Go all the way down and locate Software Update, then click on it
- Press on Download and installation
- Your smartphone will then search for the latest available update. You may still have to wait a few hours after the publication of this article to see it arrive at your home.
- If One UI 6.0 is available, start the download and click Install
- Your smartphone will restart automatically and install the new version
Note that One UI 6.0 has the number S918BXXU3BWJM. The update is quite hefty, weighing just over 3GB, due to all the new features in Android 14.
In addition to the Galaxy S23, the update is expected to arrive quickly on several other phones such as the Galaxy S22, the S21, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, the A54, the A53, the A52s, The A34 and some other devices, since these are already able to install the beta version of One UI 6.0.
What’s new for One UI 6.0?
Like every year, the new version of Samsung’s in-house overlay adds a few features and improves existing options, while providing some changes to the user interface.
Among the most notable additions to this generation, we can notably cite the arrival of rapid updates on Galaxy smartphones. This feature allows users to continue using their smartphone while it updateswhich is useful for not having to restart your device with each new security patch.
One UI 6.0 also brings a redesigned quick settings and notifications panel, as you can see in the screenshot above. Samsung also used a new font and simpler icon labels everywhere on its interface. There are also new handy Weather and Camera widgets.
Also note the arrival of new emoji styles on the Samsung keyboard, adjustments in the Camera application, improved multitasking in the Gallery application and more precise data in the Weather application. Samsung also seems allow more customization for the lock screen, especially for the clock display.
Samsung is also announcing support for new languages for Bixby Text Call, a new Auto Auto Blocker function to block the installation of apps from unauthorized app stores.
