OnePlus 10 Pro: a high-end technical sheet and a presentation from January

The OnePlus 10 Pro should be presented at the start of 2022 and intends to compete with the best high-end smartphones on the market. We can already get an idea of the on-board components.

The holidays are approaching, which does not prevent some smartphone manufacturers, especially Chinese, from activating behind the scenes to prepare for next year. We recently learned that Xiaomi would lift the veil on its new Xiaomi 12 range from December 28 in China. Today it is the turn of Pete Lau, boss of OnePlus, to communicate around one of his most anticipated devices: the OnePlus 10 Pro.

The co-founder of the firm once again used the social network Weibo to discuss his next premium smartphone. In a terse message to say the least, he gives “see you in january to officially discover the OnePlus 10 Pro. We can also expect him to unveil the OnePlus 10 in the process.

Unsurprisingly, this Pro model will be one of the first to ship a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Qualcomm’s latest SoC. The American founder promises increased performance, especially in the fields of artificial intelligence and imagery. It should be supported by 12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of storage. the leaker OnLeaks revealed more on his Twitter account.

Also on the menu, a beautiful 6.7-inch Amoled LTPO 2.0 panel offering QHD + definition. As on the recent Pixel 6 Pro or the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, the technology makes it possible to dynamically adjust the image refresh according to use (from 1 to 120 Hz), which limits its energy consumption and saves its autonomy. Ideal for going from consulting social networks to video games while enjoying the best possible visual experience. So this would be great news, if confirmed in January.

On the photo side, OnePlus would opt for a quadruple module, still in partnership with Hasselblad. We can expect a 48-megapixel wide-angle, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. A 32-megapixel sensor would be housed in the front for selfies.

Autonomy should be provided by a 5000 mAh battery, which has become quite standard on the market. However, the latest rumors suggest the presence of a 125 W charging unit, enough to fill up with energy in just a few minutes. The test of Xiaomi’s HyperCharge technology at 120 W allowed us to assess the interest of this type of charging, which will also become more popular in 2022.

Although announced in January, perhaps at CES in Las Vegas during which a OnePlus event will be held, this Pro model should not be available until April 2022.
