As you may know, OnePlus is expected at the turn in January 2022. As many rumors claim, there is a good chance that the Chinese brand will unveil its new OnePlus 10 and 10 Pro at the start of the year. next. Until then, everyone agreed that the presentation would take place on January 4, 2022.

Only, the famous insider Mayank Kumar has just brought new elements to the file. Indeed, the leaker has just posted on Twitter what seems to be a official video teaser of the manufacturer’s next flagships. We recognize the photo block with the mention Hasselblad, partner of OnePlus for the development of the photo part of the two devices. The end of the teaser gives us a new date and time: January 11, 2022 at 2 p.m.. As you will have understood, everything suggests that the presentation of the OnePlus 10 and 10 Pro will take place on this precise date, and not on January 4 as suggested by the first rumors.

The 80W fast charging confirmed for the OnePlus 10 Pro

But that’s not all. Many new information on the OnePlus 10 and 10 Pro appeared on the web this Thursday, December 30, 2021. Indeed, the Indian site MySmartPrice has discovered CCC certification documents, the Chinese Certification Commission, about the OnePlus 10 Pro. This device, which responds to name code NE2210, will be supplied with an adapter capable of delivering up to 11V voltage and 7.3 amps of intensity, i.e. a power of 80W. In other words, the OnePlus 10 Pro will be equipped with 80W fast charging, which remains a first for the brand.

So far, the manufacturer has not offered a fast charge greater than 65W, which can be found in particular on the OnePlus 9 Pro. Anyway, these certification documents corroborate previous rumors which stated that the OnePlus 10 Pro would be equipped with a more powerful 80W wired fast charging. As a reminder, this high-end variant will carry a 5000 mAh battery, against 4500 mAh on the previous generation.

A benchmark with amazing scores

Now let’s talk about the other reveal of the day concerning the OnePlus 10 Pro. Also according to the Indian site MySmartPrice, the flagship was spotted on the benchmarking application Geekbench, again under the code name NE2210. First of all, this listing confirms that the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, namely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The model tested here embeds 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM. But of course, OnePlus should offer other RAM configurations for its high-end device. In addition, it is specified that the device will be equipped with Android 12.

You will agree, nothing new under the sun at the moment. What is surprising, however, are the scores obtained by this OnePlus 10 Pro: 976 points obtained in single-core test and 3469 points recorded in multi-core test. As our colleagues from the GSM Arena site reminded us, we are far from the scores obtained on the OnePlus 9 Pro in particular. On the same protocol, the previous flagship of the manufacturer displayed 1129 points in mono and 3654 points in multi.

However, this discrepancy can be easily explained. The most plausible reason is that OnePlus has not yet optimized the 10 Pro for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Or at least the device used for the test is only a prototype. Another hypothesis, it could be a deliberate choice by OnePlus, which has proven in the past that the brand deliberately restricts the performance of its smartphones to preserve autonomy. Anyway, it will be appropriate to take the data of this benchmark with a grain of salt, since the page was quickly removed from Geekbench.
