While the next smartphone OnePlus will be presented on August 3, the brand is already revealing some technical details of its next device.

OnePlus seems eager to unveil its next smartphone and didn’t wait for the official announcement to share some photos and information.

Say goodbye to the Alert Slider…

If the design of the OnePlus 10T will logically be inspired by that of the OnePlus 10 Pro released at the start of the year, fans of the brand will immediately notice the absence of an element that made the brand’s devices special: the Alert Slider.

This small button placed on the left edge was very practical for putting the smartphone on vibrate or simply mute the sound of notifications and calls with a simple gesture, without having to go through the touch interface.

In the columns of The VergeHope Liu, head of design at OnePlus, explains this withdrawal by the need for the brand’s teams to obtain a little more space inside the smartphone for other components, in particular for the battery.

“While the alert slider appears to be a very small component, it actually has a relatively large impact on the surface of the device’s motherboard – occupying 30mm². To make sure the OnePlus 10T is up to scratch in the areas we know our users value the most…while still retaining the alert slider, we should have stacked the device’s motherboard, which would have made the device thicker”

The OnePlus 10T will thus integrate two “ charge pumps to increase recharge speed. The brand could thus offer a 150W fast charge thanks to this system against “only” 80W for the OnePlus 10 Pro.

A complete camera assisted by a brand new algorithm

OnePlus also took up the pen and posted a long message on its official forum to share some information about the photo part of the OnePlus 10T.

The smartphone will integrate a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor as the main sensor, with optical and electronic stabilization as well as support for 10-bit capture for a wider dynamic range and more colors in the image as well as the presence of a night photography mode. A 119.9 degree ultra wide-angle and a macro lens will accompany the main sensor for shots.

OnePlus also announces that the Image Clarity Engine (ICE) will be part of it with an updated algorithm to improve the shots captured and the level of detail on the screen.

However, the partnership with Hasselblad seems to be coming to an end. No reference to the brand is present on the various visuals shared by OnePlus. According to Hope Liu, the brand’s goal is ” to offer a high-performance smartphone at a certain price level and probably that this branding deal cost too much money to lower the price of the phone to the level desired by the manufacturer.

For the rest, the OnePlus 10T will be equipped with a 6.7-inch screen, with the still unknown refresh rate, and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB. UFS 3.1 storage. The battery finally would have a capacity of 4,800 mAh but all this information must be confirmed on the occasion of the launch of the device on Wednesday August 3rd.
