While Gemini is gaining ground on the Pixel 8, Google is working to sell its artificial intelligence models to other brands. In March 2024, rumors mentioned a partnership with Apple to integrate it into iOS 18 features.
On April 9, 2024, the Mountain View firm announced during Google Cloud Next 24 that OnePlus and Oppo would integrate its most advanced model on their new smartphones this year: Gemini Ultra.
During its conference, Google simply emphasized that the two brands would offer “news and audio summaries, an AI toolbox [AI toolbox] And many more”. We therefore do not know much about the concrete applications of Google’s AI on future OnePlus Oppo phones.
Nicole Zhang, general manager of AI products at Oppo and OnePlus, did not help to see things more clearly. His only statement on the subject is as follows: “Our close collaboration with Google Cloud throughout our journey is essential. Google Cloud’s open platform capabilities are of great importance for the promotion of Oppo’s AI phones”.
We will therefore have to wait for the teasing and formalization of the next generations of Oppo and OnePlus smartphones to find out more about the features provided by Gemini Ultra.
