OnePlus presents the Buds Pro 2, its new competitors to the AirPods Pro

On the sidelines of the OnePlus 11 presentation, Oppo’s alternative brand presented a new pair of TWS wireless headphones, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2. This new audio accessory is developed in partnership with Dynaudio, a Danish company that has already collaborated with Oppo on the Enco X and Enco X2. The goal is to fetch Apple’s AirPods Pro. The Western price will be announced on February 7, 2023, along with that of the OnePlus 11.

Today, OnePlus announced several products. First the OnePlus 11, its new flagship with a robust technical sheet. A phone that we have waited a long time to understand the new strategy of Oppo’s alternative brand: how will it be positioned to compete with Xiaomi, Samsung and Vivo, without engulfing Find and Reno? She will refocus with one product, more commercially aggressive. Find all the details of this announcement in our dedicated article.

On the sidelines of the OnePlus 11 launch in China, the brand also took the opportunity to unveil an audio accessory: the OnePlus Buds Pro 2. These are naturally the successors to the OnePlus Buds Pro that the brand launched in July 2021. This was doing so a year and a half that the brand had not renewed its offer in this market segment. This may seem a bit curious at a time when all smartphone manufacturers swear by their “ecosystem”.

OnePlus Buds Pro 2 benefit from the same partnership as Oppo’s Enco X2

As their name suggests, the Buds Pro 2 are premium headphones. We find a construction similar to the first generation with a rounded module, a stem with the batteries and the controls, as well as a plastic end cap for sound insulation. Each earphone incorporates a coaxial system with two loudspeakers: one 11mm woofer for bass and a 6mm tweeter for the rest (vocals, treble and midrange). Active noise reduction will obviously be part of it, as well as a complete equalizer with three fixed profiles and one fourth customizable profile.

But that’s not the point of these headphones: it’s Dynaudio. Indeed, OnePlus benefits from the partnership signed with Dynaudio. Like the Enco X and Enco X2, the Buds Pro 2 were developed in association with the Danish sound specialist. Dynaudio not only worked with OnePlus on the equalizer, but also on the hardware part. The impact of Dynaudio is very positive in the Enco range. So we can’t wait to find out if OnePlus will benefit just as much.

As with the OnePlus 11, details related to the commercial launch of the Buds Pro 2 will be revealed at an international event taking place on next February 7. This will be an opportunity to discover the prices of the products, but also the date on which they will be available. Remember that the first generation OnePlus Buds Pro were launched at 149 euros, while Oppo’s Enco X2 are sold at 199 euros (excluding promo).
