OnePlus promises to revolutionize the battery life of our smartphones

Battery performance and longevity remain major challenges for smartphone manufacturers. OnePlus, in collaboration with the Chinese company specializing in the manufacturing of batteries for electric vehicles CATL, announces a significant advance and “The beginning of a new era” with the Glacier Battery integrated into its next OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. This new technology aims to improve autonomy and charging speed, important data for consumers.

While nomophobia, that is to say the fear of no longer having a battery, affects nearly 35% of French people according to a survey published in 2023, OnePlus declares that it has found a solution: by using a silicon-carbon anode in its Glacier Battery, the BBK Electronics group brand promises to increase the energy density and capacity of the battery without increasing its size. Announced on the Chinese social network Weibo, this innovation could shake up the smartphone industry.

According to revelations from Digital Chat Station, the battery of the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro would have a capacity of 6100 mAh, and could be fully recharged in just 30 minutes thanks to a charging power of 100 W. Despite this large capacity , its thickness would be less than 9 mm, a feat made possible by the use of new materials and a different architecture reminiscent of the technology used on the Honor Magic V2.

In addition to its fast charging capabilities, this battery would benefit from the Battery Healing technology of its sister brand Oppo, improving heat resistance and reducing performance degradation linked to recharge cycles, which would thus offer prolonged autonomy and a improved lifespan. If the promises are kept, this new accumulator could become a new standard.

The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro, whose official presentation is expected on June 20, 2024 for the Chinese market, should allow us to know more about this technological innovation that should be found in the brand’s future devices.
