ongoing negotiations to reduce expenses related to IOC specifications

“We are working with the IOC [Comité international olympique], with whom we spent two and a half hours last night, to review the elements of the specifications » of the organization of the Olympic Games in order to “take decisions on the downward adjustment of a certain number of expenses”explained the Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, Thursday, November 10 at the microphone of France Info.

The Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (Cojop) is currently reviewing its budget in order to keep it as close as possible to balance, while inflation in particular will inflate certain expenses.

Ms. Oudéa-Castéra cited as possible examples of savings for the Cojop “the existence of a polyclinic in the Olympic Village, the opening times of the Olympic Village, the optimization of installation times for audiovisual production”.

“The guideline is to look at what can be done to drive down costs and which does not impact the heart of the experience lived by spectators and television viewers”added the minister.
