Applications for the new fuel allowance, which this year replaces the discount at the pump, will be open next Monday on the Tax website from 9 a.m.

Reserved for households not exceeding €14,700 in tax income per share (based on 2021 income), this €100 boost is not paid automatically. The households concerned will have to complete an online form from January 16 and before February 28.

The income ceiling criterion is not the only condition for benefiting from this aid. To be entitled to the fuel allowance, you must also:

  • Be established and be domiciled for tax purposes in France for the year 2021
  • Be at least 16 years old on December 31, 2021
  • Have declared an activity income in 2021 (salaries, industrial and commercial, non-commercial, agricultural profits)
  • Not having been liable for property wealth tax (IFI) in 2021
  • And, finally, use a vehicle for professional purposes (including commuting), regularly insured: two, three, four wheels, thermal or electric.

Can a family receive more than one fuel allowance?

Yes: the indemnity is individual. A person can only hit it once, even if they have multiple vehicles. But several people from the same tax household can receive it if they use different cars. Example: In an eligible household with 4 cars and 3 assets there may be 3 helpers (but not 4). In an eligible household with 1 car and 2 assets, there may be 1 helper (but not 2).

How will the compensation be paid?

The compensation of 100 euros will be paid by transfer to the bank account known to the tax authorities for your income tax (the transfer will be labeled “INDEMN.FUEL” on your bank statement).

If the tax authorities do not have your bank details for tax purposes on the income of your tax household, you must enter them in your secure space on impot.gouv.fr, via the “manage my direct debit at the source “.

The information to be provided online to complete your fuel compensation claim

  • Your tax number (the latter appears on your tax notice)
  • The registration number of your gray card (which appears at the bottom left of the gray card)
  • Remember to check that your bank details are correct in your particular space on the tax website, and fill in your email to be informed of the progress of your request.
