Ahead of the release of Stellar Blade scheduled for next month, a shake-up was made on the American PlayStation Store. It didn’t take much for the most curious players.
For a few minutes, a demo of Stellar Blade appeared on PS5. A huge mistake which was quickly corrected, but unfortunately the damage was already done. Return to the case with Eve.
Stellar Blade shown off a month too early
Presented for the first time five years ago, the PS5 exclusive Stellar Blade has long been desired. Everything comes in time to those who wait, with the title from Korean studio Shift Up due to be released on April 26. Unfortunately for Eve and its creators, a terrible mistake was made on the American PlayStation Store. A demo of the game made an unexpected appearance, to say the least. The alert was first given on the ResetEra forums. From then on, many players rushed to download it.
Weighing 16 GB, the demo released far too hastily was just as quickly deleted. Unfortunately, it had already found its place on the PS5 of a few reactive players. Their access was then irreparably revoked. But one of them still had time to share a long video presenting the content. This allows you to discover the start of the game, with the introductory cutscenes and tutorials allowing us to familiarize ourselves with Eve.
A bad for a good ?
If the surprise effect took a hit after the leak of this demo, the situation is perhaps not as dramatic as that. Stellar Blade having been discreet for a long time, many players still don’t know what to think of it. Beyond Eve, the character we embody, many unknowns remain. This is particularly the case with the gameplay, which we do not yet know how to place between a game in the vein of Devil May Cry or a Souls-like.
This unfortunate leak is an opportunity for the most doubtful to form a real opinion on the title of Shift Up. Stellar Blade is in any case expected on April 26, exclusively on PS5. We can bet that the demo released way too early will resurface in the meantime. Those who want to see what the game is worth with a controller in hand will be able to see whether or not it is worth integrating into their game library.
