At the time of writing these lines, Wartales is already a success. With more than 400,000 copies sold during its early access phase, and very positive feedback from players overall, the title is entering the market with solid backbone. Announced at the Future Games Show 2023, the official release date for the turn-based open-world RPG has been set for April 12, 2023.

The Shiro Games studio is definitely not idle. After the critical and commercial success of Northgard, the developers followed with the creation and the launch in early access of Wartales, while working on the design of Dune: Spice Wars. And if Northgard offered a rather shimmering and cute universe, for their tactical RPG, Shiro Games has completely changed its tune. Wartales is the opposite of a Lord of the Rings in terms of atmosphere. The universe of the title is dark, harsh, and merciless. Via the update rolled out in December 2022, the developers included the ability to play cooperatively, which allows players to share their resources and manage their team as a group. For the official release of the game, Shiro Games has announced that a new mountainous region of Alazar will be available, accompanied by a new scenario. For now, Wartales is still available in Early Access on Steam.
