OpenAI announces the return to leadership of Sam Altman

The twists and turns keep coming around OpenAI. The start-up creator of ChatGPT announces the return of Sam Altman, its co-founder. In a press release published Wednesday November 22 on XOpenAI announces the return to its leadership of Sam Altman. “We have reached an agreement in principle for Sam to return to OpenAI as CEO, with a new board of directors consisting of Bret Taylor (Chairman), Larry Summers and Adam D’Angelo”writes the firm, after five days of psychodrama.

On XSam Altman added: “I love OpenAI, and everything I’ve done over the past few days has been done in an effort to keep this team and its mission united. When I decided to join Microsoft on Sunday evening, it was clear that this was the best path for me and the team. With the new board of directors and the support of Satya [Satya Nadella, directeur général de Microsoft, actionnaire minoritaire d’OpenAI], I look forward to returning to OpenAI and strengthening our strong partnership with Microsoft. »

Nearly 700 of OpenAI’s 770 employees threatened to resign if Sam Altman did not return.
