Descent into hell for OpenAI
Everything is happening very quickly since the dismissal of Sam Altman from his position as CEO at OpenAI. After the decision of the board of directors, which took the world of artificial intelligence by surprise at the end of last week, Microsoft put its two cents into this matter on Monday by announcing that it had recruited this eminent figure in AI.
OpenAI executives reacted immediately, indicating in a letter addressed to the board of directors that they were ready to resign in order to follow their former leader at Microsoft. For his part, Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, is playing the appeasement card, while leaving the door open to Sam Altman and other OpenAI executives. Faced with this situation, he declares to remain “committed to OpenAI and Sam Altman, whatever the configuration”.
