OpenAI has just announced that registrations on ChatGPT Plus are suspended.

The star AI of the year 2023 ChatGPT experiences exceptional attendance every month. And for those who want to get the best of the technology offered, there is the possibility of subscribing to the so-called ChatGPT Plus service, for 22.50 euros per month. A service which recently benefited from a major update, which will make it even more efficient. And the public was not mistaken!

Big success currently for ChatGPT Plus

When OpenAI started offering a subscription so that the user could have a more powerful version of the ChatGPT chatbot, success was clearly not assured. Because in the end, the free version already did a good job for anyone who only had occasional use of the machine.

But with the holding of the “devday” during which new features such as GPT-4 Turbo, the API or the GPT assistants were presented, ChatGPT Plus attracts all desires. To the point that registrations have simply exploded since then, which OpenAI has difficulty managing.

Result, OpenAI must pause registrations

The influx of users after dev day has exceeded our capacity and we want to make sure everyone has a good experience » explained Sam Altman in a post on X.com. As a result, he had to make an announcement on the same network: “ We are pausing new registrations to ChatGPT Plus for a while. »

However, we don’t imagine that the break will last so long. Sam Altman even tried to reassure those who want to be able to subscribe to the subscription as quickly as possible by explaining to them that they can always start their registration. Once this step is completed, they will then be notified through the application of the reopening of ChatGPT Plus subscriptions.
