OpenAI: the new AI search engine made official this Monday, May 13?

OpenAI is expected to soon launch its search engine based on ChatGPT. In fact, it should even be in just a few days!

Since the launch of ChatGPT, a number of people have wondered whether generative AI technology could potentially replace search engines. If the first attempt, which integrated AI technology into Bing, did not give substance to these hopes, OpenAI nevertheless continued to work in this direction. And the result should be available to us very soon!

Good news ! Rumors of a new AI-powered search engine in the works at OpenAI appear to be true. Even to the point that we wouldn’t be very far from the official launch.

This was indicated by two sources at the agency Reuters, sources which gave for the first time a launch date for this new product. The search engine should therefore be unveiled at the beginning of next week, on Monday May 13. A date which would in no way be the result of chance.

Thumbing the nose at Google?

Indeed, the day after this date, namely Tuesday May 14, Google will organize its annual conference, Google I/O. OpenAI would thus launch its search engine the day before the annual ceremony of the undisputed world number 1 in the search engine sector. A way to challenge the Mountain View firm, in a way.

Note that Microsoft’s partner would not be the first to make a foray into AI-powered search engines. Perplexity AI, a start-up notably supported by Nvidia and Jeff Bezos, already offers a search engine in which the Internet user, instead of integrating keywords, directly asks a question to the interface to obtain the information sought.
