Reddit and OpenAI have just announced the signing of a new partnership. Enough to give access to the father of ChatGPT to new data.
There is a relatively little-known link between Reddit and OpenAI: Sam Altman. The boss of the AI specialist is in fact the third shareholder of the discussion platform, with 9% of the capital. A special bond that is growing today with the announcement of a partnership between the two companies, Reddit having what companies like OpenAI are looking for most, namely data.

Amid the cascade of resignations, OpenAI will at least be able to say that it has good news to highlight this week, thanks to its agreement with Reddit. Through this partnership, the Californian company will be able to access, via Reddit’s data API, the platform’s real-time content.
An organic link between ChatGPT and Reddit will apparently be built through this agreement. “ OpenAI will bring Reddit content to ChatGPT and new products, helping users discover and engage with Reddit communities » was thus indicated.

And the proof of this link which is greatly strengthened is that Reddit will for its part be entitled to new AI functionalities, intended to enrich the user experience.

OpenAI is not the first artificial intelligence giant to secure a deal with Reddit. Last February, Google signed a similar agreement with the American community web forum. At the time, we learned that the contract between the two entities, worth 60 million euros, would allow Google to train its AI systems with data from the forum. However, we do not know the financial terms of the contract signed with OpenAI.
