If you use Opera daily and want to save time opening your downloaded files, without having to go through the file manager, there is a very easy way. Indeed, Opera makes it easy to locate and open downloaded files.
Here are three tips for quickly accessing your downloaded files, whether you use Opera on Windows, macOS or Linux.
1. The simplest: the menu bar
You can go through the browser menu bar, by going to the tab Downloads to display the list of recent downloads. If the file you are looking for is not listed, click Show more to open the downloads page in a new tab.
2. The most textual: the address bar
You can also open a new tab and type opera:downloads in the address bar. Press on Entrance and a page with the list of all downloaded files will be displayed. From this list, you can search for a file, open it, view the folder in which it was saved or even restart an unsuccessful download.
3. The fastest: create access on the sidebar
If you want to access your downloads even faster, there’s a one-click method. Here’s how to do it.
1. Configure the sidebar
Right-click on your browser sidebar and select Sidebar configuration.

You can choose to hide the sidebar, but if you want to be able to quickly access its features, I don’t recommend it.
2. Add quick access to downloads
In the sidebar settings, check the box associated with Downloadsthen click outside the window to close it.

Furthermore, through this menu you can add as many features as you want to the Opera sidebar.
3. Access your downloads in one click
You should now see an icon Downloads in the sidebar. Click on this icon and the downloads will open in a new tab in Opera.
From this page you can search for a file, open it, then close the downloads tab.
