Opera in the quarry – Experience “Carmen” live with KronePLUS as a VIP

The white Leitha limestone forms the backdrop for unique musical experiences in the opera in the quarry. The Romans had already recognized its quality and brought it to Carnuntum. Later it was used in many buildings in Vienna: St. Margarethen sand-lime brick is not only used for the renovation of St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Karlskirche, but can also be found as a building material around the Vienna Ringstrasse. Over the centuries, its dismantling created the depression that today serves as the opera scene: Protected from the wind and surrounded by nature, the stage, auditorium and opera lounge are carefully integrated into the environment.
