The Opera company offers an additional level of security to its users by offering, on Mac and Windows, its VPN Pro service.

Launched last March, the VPN Pro from Opera, the company with the famous browser, offers a complete solution that takes care of encrypting the outgoing traffic of the Android device of the user. The VPN service having become an essential element of navigation whatever the device used as Opera’s Krystian Kolondra acknowledges, the company on Thursday announced enhanced user privacy on the desktop.

Six devices (Android, Mac and Windows) can be covered with the same subscription

Now users can simultaneously connect up to six Android and desktop devices to their VPN subscription, to stay safe online. This means that in addition to Android devices, Windows and Mac machines (up to six in total) can be covered under the same VPN Pro premium subscription.

Like Opera’s free browser VPN, which is still available, VPN Pro is a no-log service. Remember that a no-log (or zero-log) VPN is not supposed to store personal data, a commitment normally verified following an audit conducted by an independent body.

For its VPN Pro service, Opera boasts of offering access to more than 3,000 private network servers, dispatched in more than 30 locations around the world, with a fast VPN connection, thanks to access to high-speed servers. Interesting point (and to be checked) when you know that the free version has been accumulating reports of connection slowdown lately. Add to that an obviously unlimited bandwidth, for the six supported devices.

Rather competitive rates for Opera VPN Pro

To use VPN Pro on Windows and Mac, just install Opera Browser for desktop, log into Opera account and select the desired subscription period. And to use the same subscription on your Android device, you just need to download the Opera browser from the Google Play Store and sign in to the same Opera account.

Regarding the prices, we took a look at the French VPN Pro page, which announces the following prices at the beginning of August:

  • One-year subscription, for 21.48 euros (i.e. 1.79 euros/month).
  • Six-month subscription, for 16.14 euros (i.e. 2.69 euros/month).
  • Monthly subscription, for 5.49 euros/month.

Opera announces offering a free month of subscription to VPN Pro for those who subscribe, via the desktop, before August 31st. Everyone will have the possibility to cancel the subscription at any time. Subscriptions purchased via Play Store come with a 7-day free trial period.
