OPJ: is the series really shot in Reunion?

Season 3 of the series OPJ continues this Thursday, August 4 at 9 p.m. on France 3. For the occasion, Télé Star invites you to dive behind the scenes of the detective series with Yaelle Trules in the role of Commander Clarissa Hoarau and to discover in particular if the series which takes place on the island of Reunion is really shot on the island of the Indian Ocean.

And the answer is yes ! The filming of this season 3 ofOPJ started in July 2021 on the island of Reunion. The special episode broadcast this Thursday August 4 in which Thomas Jouannet plays Angelo, a cop suspected of having stolen 2 million during an illegal search, was shot very precisely from August 17 to September 3, 2021. From a point from a global perspective, this season 3 ofOPJ takes Commander Clarissa Hoarau and her team to very special places in Reunion, notably in the heart of a distillery or even on the lagoon and in the heights of the island. Last week, another special episode with Lola Dewaere as a guest brought together 2.1 million viewers ahead of France 3.

The Overseas Territories, a paradise for France Télévisions detective series

OPJ is not the only public service detective series to be set up in the Overseas Territories. This is also the case for the series Criminal Tropics with Sonia Rolland who is filming in Martinique. These series meet “a public service ambition to establish itself in the Overseas Territories”, in their own words. For OPJfor example, the filming of season 3 employed 86 secondary roles, more than 500 extras and 96 local technicians, and the crew was mainly from Réunion.
