Oppo Find X5 Pro: price, release date, technical sheet… everything we know

[ad_1]

Oppo will therefore move directly from the Find X3 series to Find X5. The range should again extend from the ultra premium with the Find X5 Pro to the mid-range with a Find X5 Lite, without forgetting a probable Find X5 between the two. Photo configuration, power, screen, design… we take stock of the rumors and expectations of the next flagships of Oppo.

Little by little, the bird makes its nest. Since Oppo moved to France in the summer of 2018, the Chinese brand has come a long way. It is not uncommon to see it around fourth place in smartphone sales in France.

And if there is a range of smartphones that has helped it build a solid reputation, it is undoubtedly that of the Find X. This combines a premium feeling with an always interesting photo proposition. Like its cousin brand OnePlus, Oppo avoids the number 4 – associated with the notion of death in China. We therefore expect this year the arrival of the Oppo Find X5 Pro as well as its variations, the Find X5 and the Find X5 Lite. Here’s everything we know about them.

Our summary of the Find X5 range in video

Here is the video we published about, especially the Find X5 Pro, but also its little comrades, the Find X5 and Find X5 Lite.

What design for the Find X5 Pro?

For the design of the Find X5 Pro, Oppo seems to be on the same track as its predecessor. We would find the so recognizable photo block of the Find X3 Pro, a bit like a stretched tent canvas while rounded. However, it would swap the square format for a more asymmetrical shape, slightly more elongated on the left, while retaining three sensors at the back.

Renders of the Oppo Find X5 Pro shared by WinFuture corroborate this aesthetic.

On the side of what changes, we can point out that the slices also seem less rounded. Difficult to determine at this stage if it retains its glass back, but we expect the same IP68 sealing certification as on the old model.

The most striking change is actually the presence of the Hasselblad logo on the back, which we will discuss further in the photo part of this file.

We already have a good idea of the different colors of the Find X5 Pro thanks to various stolen photos and 3D renderings. Even if it is probable that all the colors do not arrive until our green regions, we can rely on these colors: purple, shiny blue, shiny silver and white. Remember that the Find X3 Pro had only the right to two colors, glossy black and blue.

It is hoped that Oppo Find X5 Pro comes with ColorOS 12 (Android 12) straight out of the box.

Oppo Find X5 and Find X5 Lite

We still don’t know anything about the design of the other two smartphones expected in the Find X5 range. We just expect the Oppo Find X5 to take over from the Oppo Find X3 Neo by offering a slightly less equipped model and the Oppo Find X5 Lite to offer an entry ticket to the range, at the like the Oppo Find X3 Lite.

Some hallway noises on Twitter whisper that the Oppo Find X3 Lite is actually a rebranded version of the Oppo Reno 7 5G.

The screen would not move

Let’s go very quickly to the screens expected on these Find X5s. Don’t expect a big upheaval.

The Pro model would retain all of the – already very good – technical data sheet of the Find X3 Pro: 6.7-inch Amoled screen, QHD + definition, 120 Hz refresh with LTPO 2.0 technology. The classic Find X5 would be based on a 6.7-inch Full HD + panel.

Same story for the Find X5 Lite, which would offer a 6.43-inch 90 Hz Oled FHD + screen. The Find X5 screen has managed to stay in the shade.

The Find X5 Pro camera package

In the photo, based on the first leaks, Oppo seems to want to definitely put the package on its flagship, the Oppo Find X5 Pro. Two elements suggest this. The first is the addition of a chip dedicated to photography, called MariSilicon X. Oppo has officially communicated on this, so we are certain of its presence in its next premium smartphone. To see for the Find X5 and X5 Lite on the other hand.

Oppo Find X5 Pro

This is a chip that will support the main SoC in the photo. This NPU (for neural processing unit) should, according to Oppo, be a real ace in the speed of photographic processing, since it promises photographic performance 20 times higher than that of the Oppo Find X3 Pro, already considered a flagship of the genre. Understand that all software image processing will be done, a priori, in the blink of an eye.

Beyond pure power, the Oppo Find X5 Pro should also be able to offer very impressive dynamic management, or even greater 4K RAW management.

Every day i’m Hasselblad

Second major element that promises on the potential photo quality of the Oppo Find X5 Pro: the Hasselblad logo appears on the back of the phone (next to the Oppo logo) on several stolen shots. The rapprochement with OnePlus would of course have something to do with it.

Of course, such a partnership should not stop at applying a simple sticker to the back of the phone that gives pleasure. The Swedish company founded in 1841 has a long experience in the noble art of photography. As a reminder, its contribution to the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro has mainly focused on colorimetry and the addition of nice photo modes, such as XPan panoramic mode and 65:24 framing.

Photo technical sheet

Beyond these two already very promising elements, the Oppo Find X5 Pro we already have a fairly precise idea of the probable technical sheet of the photo unit.

  • 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 front sensor with RGBW technology;
  • 50 megapixel Sony IMX 766 main sensor, coupled with a wide-angle lens and an optical stabilizer;
  • The secondary sensor could, depending on the version, be a 32-megapixel IMX709 sensor backed by an ultra-wide angle, or even a 50-megapixel sensor associated with the same optics. As a bonus, it would benefit from DOL-HDR technology.
  • 13-megapixel Samsung S5K3M5 sensor with telephoto optics, probably 3X optical zoom.

Note in passing the removal of the sensor dedicated to microscopic shots, very original, but surely less convincing than a good old telephoto lens for buyers.

As for the other two contenders in the range, the classic Find X5 would be based according to MySmartrPrice on a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical and electronic stabilization as well as a 32-megapixel selfie sensor with electronic stabilization. Find X5 Lite has already leaked. It would offer three 64, 8 and 2 megapixel sensors (wide angle, ultra wide angle and macro) as well as a 32 megapixel selfie sensor.

Performance and battery

Who says premium smartphone obviously says the most powerful SoC on the market. Unless there is a major upheaval, the Oppo Find X5 Pro will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Oppo has indeed communicated in this sense when the latest chip from Qualcomm is announced.

In addition to representing a significant gain in CPU and GPU power, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, engraved in 4nm, will emphasize machine learning calculations and offer an ISP (the chip dedicated to photography) capable of processing a large amount of information at once.

We do not know for the moment the configuration in RAM and storage, even if we can allow ourselves to count on a configuration with 12 GB of RAM and storage ranging from 128 to 256 GB.

The Find X5 Pro would rely on a nice 5000 mAh battery while offering 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

Find X5 and Find X5 Lite data sheets

The Find X5 Lite would therefore take up the technical sheet of the Oppo Reno 7 5G. We can therefore count on a Snapdragon 778G, 8 to 12 GB of RAM, 128 to 256 GB of storage. It would also integrate a 4500 mAh battery and 60W charging.

The configuration of a possible “normal” Find X5 remains unknown for the time being. Rumors point to the integration of Mediatek’s Dimensity 9000, but a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 version would also be considered.

Price and release date

The Oppo Find X5 Pro is expected around February or March 2022 (perhaps at MWC 2022?), but without confirmation. However, we can rely on the formalization of the previous range, the Oppo Find X3 Pro, Neo and Lite, which took place on March 11, 2021, with a pre-order on March 18 and availability from March 30.

How much will it cost? A priori, in Europe, it would be necessary to count on a price of at least 1200 euros. Very credible track since the Oppo Find X3 Pro was released at 1149 euros while the X2 Pro was trading at 1199 euros. We should be around these rates.

Similarly, the Oppo Find X5 could well follow the price segment of the Find X3 Neo, i.e. 799 euros when it comes out. The Oppo Find X5 Lite for its part, may be expected around 449 euros, the price of its predecessor.
