Oppo Find X6 Pro: a one-inch photo sensor to present itself as the best photophone

While the series is not expected to see the light of day before the first quarter of 2023, information about Oppo’s Find X6 series is growing. The next smartphones should deviate little from the Find X5 series, but a lot of work would have been done on the photo.

It is once again to the very prolific Digital Chat Station that we owe this information. According to the spoiler, the Pro variant of the Find X6 could be equipped with three 50-megapixel modules, and Sony would supply all three optics. The main module would be none other than the IMX989, the famous 1-inch sensor present in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and which we could soon find in the Xiaomi 13 Pro or the Vivo X90 Pro+ unveiled on November 22.

For ultra wide-angle and telephoto, Oppo would have chosen the IMX890, an as yet unannounced lens, 1/1.56 inch in size and offering a pixel binning 4-1. This improved version of the IMX766 is present in many mid-range and high-end smartphones. The telephoto lens would allow x2.7 magnification and would have optical stabilization. Digital Chat Station also indicates that a ToF (Time of Flight) could accompany the photo triptych.

For the rest, the Find X6 series, in particular the X6 Pro model, would be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor or a MediaTek Dimensity 9200. A choice which could for once be reserved for Chinese territory, France being satisfied with a version equipped with Qualcomm’s SoC. Finally, the screen would be 6.7 inches, Oled technology with QHD + definition and 120 Hz refresh.
