On December 14, 2022, Oppo inaugurated its new Inno Day conference. During this first day, the Chinese brand presented three innovations intended to improve the experience of the “Oppo ecosystem”. The most interesting is called Marisilon Y, a Bluetooth chip intended for the brand’s future Enco headphones. The objective of the component: to do like Apple with AirPods and iPhones. December 14 is a big day for Oppo: it’s the inauguration ofInnoDay, its annual conference dedicated to new technologies. During this event, the Chinese firm does not necessarily present only smartphones during Inno Day. There may be tomorrow, since many rumors claim that one or two Find N2 are planned. But today, that is not the case. Today, the ecosystem is in the spotlight with three new features.

The most important of the three is a component called Marisilicon Y. It is not a replacement for the Marisilicon X image coprocessor that Oppo announced at Inno Day 2021 and that you find in the Reno 8 Pro and the Find X5 and Find X5 Pro. The function of Marisilicon Y is different since it is a custom Bluetooth chip. Oppo explains that its goal is to improve the existing one by taking over the audio functions of the Bluetooth protocol and improving it to offer better quality sound.
Oppo wants to offer the same audio technologies as Apple
Among the promises announced by Oppo, we find lossless quality with sampling 192 kHz at 24 bitbut also the spatialization (like Spatial Audio from Apple or 360 Audio from Sony) for movies, games and music. Artificial intelligence also has a role to play here since a neural coprocessor is included in Marisilicon Y to analyze the type of music and adapt the equalizer in real time.
On the other hand, Oppo tells us that the latency has not been specifically reworked. Questioned by Phonandroid, the brand explains that this is not a priority, because it already offers the gaming mode which significantly reduces latency. A statement that may surprise smartphone gamers.
Marisilicon Y is comparable to the Apple H chips (H1 and H2) that you find in particular in AirPods wireless products from the Beats brand. This chip should find its place in the future high-end audio products of the Enco series (in the probable successors of the Enco X2, for example). And this chip will of course be optimized to work with Oppo smartphones, like iPhones with AirPods. The objective is therefore clear: to differentiate itself from the competition on Android (in particular Samsung and Xiaomi) and to bring an exclusive experience to its audio accessories.
Oppo also unveils a biometric roller and connected glasses
The second announcement concerns OHealth H1. It is not a component, but a commercial product. Oppo calls it ” family health monitor because its purpose is to measure and analyze the biometric data of the whole family: body temperature, quality of sleep, heart rate, electrocardiogram, etc.
Since it is a family product, it is able to separate data collected from multiple users. It takes the form of a fairly refined white pebble. Inside, you will find all the necessary biometric sensors. It is battery operated and weighs 95 grams, which feels pretty light. OHealth H1 will be marketed only in China initially. An international launch has not been mentioned.
Finally, the last product presented is called Air Glass 2. This is the second generation of connected glasses from Oppo, the first having also been unveiled during Inno Day in 2021. This new generation does not revolutionize the concept, since we remain on “assisted” (or augmented) reality, but it improves what already exists. The weight has been improved: 38 grams. The optics have been modified to adopt SRG-diffractive lenses, making the product compatible with corrective lenses.
With these various environmental, biometric and connectivity sensors, Air Glass 2 can translate in real time, make calls, offer a geolocated route or even convert voice into text. No commercial information was provided, be it a price, a date or a country of launch.
