Oppo unveiled its Reno 6 series in September 2021, consisting of two devices. And if the Chinese brand usually only presents one Reno series per year, this year it is breaking the rule by adding a Reno 7 to its catalog. An announcement that takes place a little more than six months after its predecessors and, one suspects, less than six months from the presentation of a very probable Reno 8 series. not a series strictly speaking: Oppo is content with a Reno 7 on the French market, and does not plan to market the Reno 7 Pro there, although it is available abroad.

This Reno 7 relies heavily on its design. Reminiscent of that of the Reno 6 – and by the way, that of the latest iPhones – it is distinguished by its flat edges and its back designed not to catch fingerprints. Two versions of the device are available: one matte black, in plastic, and the other in fiberglass imitating the grain of leather (sold exclusively on Amazon). In any case, both have in common a weight limited to 175 g and a neat dorsal photo module. The latter includes two usable modules, complementing a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The main one displays 64 million points (f / 1.7 optics) and the second, 2 megapixels, and decked out with macro optics inspired by that of the Find X3 Pro. It offers 15x to 30x magnification. We note that this macro module is surrounded by an LED flash serving as a notification indicator when receiving messages or calls. Let’s add that on the front, a 32 megapixel sensor is devoted to capturing selfies.

For the rest, the Reno 7 is rather classic. Like the Honor X8 presented yesterday, it relies on the Snapdragon 680 (4G) chip, flanked here by 8 GB of RAM, but also 128 GB of storage expandable via a microSD card . The device is powered by a 4500 mAh battery compatible with SuperVOOC charging at 33 W and runs on Android 12, accompanied by ColorOS 12. On the price side, count on a launch at € 329.90 with availability from the end of April.
