Oppo Reno4 Z for 199 €: is the mobile phone worth it as a last-minute gift?

Saturn and MediaMarkt are currently offering the Oppo Reno4 Z for just 199 euros as a tempting last-minute gift for Christmas. Looking at the data sheet, this is a great price, but is it really worth buying? In the deal check, I introduce you to the mobile phone and put the promotional price in the right context.

  • MediaMarkt & Saturn are offering the Oppo Reno4 Z for 199 euros
  • 5G smartphone with 128 GB storage, 120 Hertz display and 48 MP camera
  • Next best price on the net: 240 euros

Are you still looking for a new smartphone for Christmas? Then MediaMarkt is currently pulling your skirt and suggesting that you buy the Oppo Reno4 Z for 199 euros. The smartphone is currently being sold on the red technology market with a discount of almost 50 euros at the regular list price. If you are already convinced, you will find the two offers here:

A price check reveals that the price is actually good. At other retailers on the net, you currently pay just under 240 euros for the smartphone. In the past, the best offer for the Reno 4 Z was 220 euros. With a view to the price radar, I am giving the green light to buying the China cell phone. As we already told you in our shopping guide for Christmas 2021, delivery before Christmas is no longer guaranteed.

Is it worth buying the Oppo Reno4 Z?

So it’s best to go straight to the MediaMarkt or Saturn of your choice to buy the cell phone. Of course, you can also order the mobile phone online and pick it up on site – but in any case you need a 2G proof to get entry to the shop. But now to the mobile phone: The Oppo Reno4 Z appeared in Germany in October 2020 for 349 euros. It has a 6.5-inch LC display with a refresh rate of 120 Hertz. Unfortunately, you have to do without AMOLED, which is okay at the price of 200 euros.

Fortunately, the “MediaTek Dimensity 800” SoC installed by Oppo supports the new 5G cellular standard. As a mid-range SoC, it should still manage current mobile games quite well. The cool thing about the Reno4 5G is the 128 gigabytes of internal memory and 8 GB of RAM, which make multitasking easier. But I don’t hope the 48-megapixel camera will produce any amazing photos without having tested the cell phone. Of the four cameras on the back, only the main and ultra-wide-angle cameras are useful in everyday life.

The only disadvantage for 200 euros I see in the data sheet is a battery with 4,000 mAh. He could quickly bend his knees, especially with a 120 Hertz display and when using 5G. Here you can usually find 1,000 mAh more on other cell phones for less than 200 euros. Does that scare you off? Then go directly to our smartphone leaderboard and look for a cell phone in your price range!
