Even if you still have to keep your distance from circular saws, planing machines etc. in the first phase, the young people learn how to use the tools correctly. “When machines are operated – then under supervision,” says workshop coordinator Sem Graf.
Young people who need special support in their training are trained in the carpentry workshop in Treffen. “This is also about fitting into the group, learning social skills. We train young people to become qualified helpers in such a way that they can be placed,” says educational trainer and master carpenter Thomas Olsacher.
