Optical illusion on Mars: the incredible human silhouette photographed in the middle of the rocks

In a video on Youtube, he explains that he came across this NASA snapshot which, according to him, “is 100% proof of intelligent life. The scientist goes on to describe in great detail what appears to be a human figure: “The person is lying down, her upper chest, neck and face are pink, she is wearing a dark suit, but she has a gray object. on one shoulder… It looks like a kind of backpack. There are even footprints behind the person that lead to where they chose to lie down.”

A simple optical illusion

However, at the risk of disappointing fans of UFOs and extraterrestrials, it is not an Alien lying on a rock sunbathing but a very subjective optical illusion. This phenomenon, called pareidolia means that our eyes have played a trick on us, like those of Scott Waring who believed that this form was human. We have all had the experience of spotting known shapes, like faces in clouds for example.

“The mind will have this natural and cognitive tendency to give forms to things it does not know to try not to remain in an unknown or mystical dynamic”, explains Victoria Aguilar, clinical psychologist to our colleagues from BFMTV.
