(CercleFinance.com) – Orange, Deutsche Telekom, Telefónica and Vodafone will form a joint venture for the implementation in Europe of a technological platform for digital marketing. This platform will make it possible to take into account the personal data protection needs of consumers. This solution should benefit both consumers, advertisers and publishers.
“The platform is specifically designed to provide a major improvement in the control, transparency and protection of consumer data, which is today collected, distributed and stored on a large scale by large non-European players,” says Orange.
The creation of this new entity was authorized today by the European Commission, in accordance with the European Union regulation on the control of concentrations between undertakings.
The four companies will take equal shares of 25% each in this new joint venture, which will be based in Belgium.
