(CercleFinance.com) – Orange on Tuesday formalized a partnership with the American data center manager Equinix in order to accelerate the deployment of its next-generation international network.
Under the terms of the agreement, the French group will use the Equinix Metal edge service to provide companies and customers in the wholesale market with so-called ‘telco cloud’ points of presence.
Each of these architectures can host virtualized network service functions such as voice, 5G, or security services, and connect customers to leading content and cloud service providers.
This solution will be deployed by the end of the year in Seattle, Madrid and Amsterdam.
Orange, which already has 40 points of presence in the field of software-defined networks (SDN), aims to reach more than 100 points by 2024 as part of the transformation of its international next-generation network.
