After SFR and Bouygues Telecom, it is Orange’s turn to launch a fiber offer with Samsung smart TV included. But it is not compatible with one of the operator’s latest generation Liveboxes.
Following the marketing of its brand new TV 6 decoder, Orange launched this week a new special offer, combining Livebox fiber and smart TV, in association with Samsung. This special series allows you to purchase a television at a more attractive price, at the expense of a 24-month commitment. Let’s see what happens.
With the new Livebox special series, Orange offers 8 Samsung smart TVs
Orange is therefore launching offers that combine the Internet, via optical fiber, with a Samsung smart television. The historic operator now offers an offer called “Livebox Fiber + Smart TV Special Series”. In detail, here are the models offered:
The Samsung Crystal TV UHD CU7025 4K, Smart TV:
This first model, which has 4K UHD resolution and a slim design (thickness of 80 mm), is available in four versions: 109 cm (43”), 127 cm (50”), 140 cm ( 55”) and 165 cm (65”). Let’s add three HDMI 2.0 ports and one USB to the models. With the Orange offer, these four Samsung televisions are available at the following prices:
- 49 euros (compared to 429 euros price noted on the supplier’s website on April 11, 2024) for the 109 cm model.
- 159 euros (instead of 479 euros) for the 127 cm version.
- 229 euros (compared to 549 euros) for the 140 cm model.
- And 399 euros (instead of 699 euros) for the 165 cm version.
The Samsung TV QLED Q60D, 4K, Smart TV:
This second model is unsurprisingly more expensive, with four variations: 109 cm (43”), 127 cm (50”), 140 cm (55”) and 165 cm (65”). It must be said that it is of a quite significantly higher range from a technological point of view, with a QLED 4K resolution for more realistic, fluid and precise images, an even thinner design (24 mm thick). Let’s round out the features with three HDMI 2.0 ports and two USB ports. With the Livebox Fiber + Smart TV Special Series, these four Samsung televisions are available at the following prices:
- 299 euros (compared to 699 euros price noted on the supplier’s website on April 11, 2024) for the 109 cm model.
- 349 euros (instead of 799 euros) for the 127 cm version.
- 399 euros (compared to 899 euros) for the 140 cm model.
- And 599 euros (instead of 1,099 euros) for the 165 cm version.
So here we have a total of eight Samsung models offered by Orange, which allow you to be comfortable in your favorite uses (TV, series, entertainment, gaming) according to your needs. Let’s see how much all this costs in the end, because we don’t forget that this is a Livebox subscription.
Orange does not offer better than the Livebox 5 of 2019 in its new offer
As you can see, a Samsung smart TV can be purchased “from” 49 euros. As for the Livebox Fiber Special Series offer itself, it is offered by Orange at a price of 45.99 euros/month, with a 24-month commitment.
At this price, you will have optical fiber with speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s when downloading (downloading) and up to 500 Mbit/s when uploading (sending), as well as Orange TV with its 100 channels and access to replay, in addition to unlimited calls to landline numbers in mainland France.
Except that by subscribing to this offer, you will not be able to claim to equip yourself with the Livebox 6 or the very recent Livebox 7, since Orange associates the Livebox 5, which has been on the market for four and a half years now, with the offer. You will therefore remain limited to Wi-Fi 5. This could be a little disappointing, especially since a Livebox 6, for example, only costs a few euros more per month (51.99 euros) and benefits from a promotional period (29.99 euros/month for 6 months), via the Livebox Up Fiber offer.
