Orpea progresses after confirming its Ebitdar forecast


(AOF) – Orpea (+2.34% to 0.0131 euros) is in the green after reporting an annual turnover of 5.2 billion euros, up 11%, online with expectations. The operator of retirement homes and clinics, now controlled by a group led by the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC), still forecasts an Ebitdar of around 690 million euros for 2023. Invest Securities notes that the objective 2023 Ebitdar set at 690 million euros was lowered on January 18 compared to the previous target of 710 million.

For the fourth quarter alone, turnover stood at 1.35 billion euros, up 11.7% and up 9.7% on an organic basis.

The group’s activity as a whole is growing with an average occupancy rate of 84% in the fourth quarter of 2023, an increase of 1.9 points compared to last year in the same period, despite a drop of 0.9 points in the scope of retirement homes in France.

The company also reported “an accounting entry following capital operations linked to the financial restructuring, leading to a positive impact of 2.7 billion euros on net income” and “asset impairments for an amount of approximately 0.4 billion euros, as part of the value tests carried out under IAS 36.

Orpea specified that the publication of its annual results would take place “during May 2024, at the latest”.
