819 artists have been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences – 36 percent of the invitations went to People of Color, 45 percent to women. According to "The Hollywood Reporter", possible new members include Awkwafina (32), Zendaya (23), Ryan Murphy (54), Constance Wu (38), Florence Pugh (24) and Olivia Wilde (36). Ana de Armas (32), Eva Longoria (4) and German actor Udo Kier (75) also received an invitation to vote on the Oscars.
The Oscars have been criticized for many years. Too little diversity would be expressed in the award ceremony of the most coveted film award in the world, so the stubborn reproach.
