Oscar Academy: These stars receive an invitation

Over 800 new members join the Oscar Academy. Including stars like Awkwafina and Zendaya. Eva Longoria also received an invitation.

819 artists have been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences – 36 percent of the invitations went to People of Color, 45 percent to women. According to "The Hollywood Reporter", possible new members include Awkwafina (32), Zendaya (23), Ryan Murphy (54), Constance Wu (38), Florence Pugh (24) and Olivia Wilde (36). Ana de Armas (32), Eva Longoria (4) and German actor Udo Kier (75) also received an invitation to vote on the Oscars.

The Oscars have been criticized for many years. Too little diversity would be expressed in the award ceremony of the most coveted film award in the world, so the stubborn reproach. The Academy then committed to making changes. The 93rd Academy Awards will not be awarded until April 25th. The world's most important film awards were originally scheduled to be awarded on February 28, 2021. The reason for the new date is the coronavirus pandemic.
