Oscars 2020: the celebrities are drawn to these parties

The 92nd Academy Awards will take place in Los Angeles on February 9, 2020. The Oscars put the City of Angels in a state of emergency every year. Because the celebrity and party density increases enormously immediately before and after the award ceremony. Hollywood's "Who is Who" is in the palm of your hand. These events attract the stars this year.

Is Jennifer Lopez still getting a prize?

The day before the Oscars, the Independent Spirit Awards are presented, the award for the best independent films of the year. Five nominations each won "The Lighthouse" with Robert Pattinson (33) and Willem Dafoe (64) and "The Black Diamond" with Adam Sandler (53). "The Farewell", "Parasite", "Marriage Story" and "Booksmart" are also nominated. Renée Zellweger (50), Octavia Spencer (47) and Jennifer Lopez (50) can hope for actor awards.

After the award, the production company IFC Films not only celebrates the Independent Spirit Awards 2020, but also its 20th anniversary. Stars such as Octavia Spencer, Taika Waititi (44) and Olivia Wilde (35) are expected at the party.

For the 18th time the "MPTF Night Before Fundraiser" takes place on the evening before the Oscars. This year's guest list includes a number of top-class nominees: Antonio Banderas, Laura Dern, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cynthia Erivo, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Lopez, Margot Robbie, Steven Spielberg and Charlize Theron.

Star casserole at Elton John

The "Who is Who" of celebrities usually opens at the "Viewing Party" of singer Elton John (72) and his husband David Furnish (57). In 2020, the couple will host the "Queer Eye" stars Jonathan Van Ness, Tan France, Karamo and Bobby Berk. Singer-songwriter Sam Fender will also perform and the auction is legendary. 2020 guests should include Alfie Allen, Caitlyn Jenner, Bill Kaulitz, Tom Kaulitz, Heidi Klum, Billy Porter, Jane Seymour and Sharon Stone.

Oscar winner Jamie Foxx (52, "Ray") and the band Maroon 5 create the atmosphere at the "Byron Allen and Entertainment Studios Annual Oscar Viewing Party". The proceeds will go to the Los Angeles Children's Hospital.

A ball and a long party night

Immediately after the award ceremony, the Governors Ball takes place. Traditionally, the Oscar statues are engraved on all winners. The dinner comes from the Austrian-American star chef Wolfgang Puck (70). This year it is said to consist of 70 percent vegan dishes.

The "Vanity Fair Oscar Party" has the highest star density every year. Hardly any winners or nominees skip this event. Many celebrities even change outfits before they appear. Last year Heidi Klum (46) and husband Tom Kaulitz (30) were present, this should hardly be any different this year.

The "Gold Party" by Jay-Z (50) and Beyoncé (38) will take place for the third time in 2020 and is also very popular. In the past, stars like Diddy, Jennifer Hudson, Michael B. Jordan, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Ellen Pompeo, Rihanna or Pharrell Williams appeared there.

Warner Bros. also invites you to the exclusive Oscar party. The film "Joker" with Joaquin Phoenix (45) leads the nomination list with eleven eleven entries. Streaming giant Netflix will also celebrate extra. With 24 nominations thanks to "The Irishman", "Marriage Story" and "The Two Popes" no wonder.
