Osmosun: projects are scrambling…

(Boursier.com) — A year ago, Osmosun launched Kori Odyssey, an initiative aimed at developing and implementing, with local stakeholders, tailor-made programs for access to water using solar energy in isolated areas of the South Pacific. Osmosun is now drawing up a first assessment of the project: 3 small capacity units installed, 8 currently being installed, around ten similar projects currently being negotiated, a network of partners identified, a recognized reputation and the start of a new phase from the program.

After a year of study spent in the Pacific zone, more than 10 countries, 40 islands and villages visited and 16,000 kilometers traveled, the Osmosun team draws up a severe observation: if water exists in the zone, fresh water and consistently available quality is structurally lacking… This water stress is accelerated by climate change which, making rainfall uncertain, accentuates both droughts and the violence of precipitation. This water deficit also hits agriculture hard.

Second observation, few desalination projects already carried out in the territory have been able to be sustained over time, the great diversity of water management methods (centralized, decentralized, community, private) leading to a complexity to which a single response technology is not enough.

Contracts in sight

Faced with this double observation, Osmosun has implemented two types of very concrete responses: the company has already delivered several units to hotels and guesthouses in French Polynesia. New contracts are also in advanced negotiations in the hotel sector… The mining industry also continues to show its interest with an operational installation in New Caledonia since 2021. The public sector displays a wide diversity of situations and management methods, Osmosun also offers landlords one of its three standardized models.

This multi-site water kiosks program is now intended to be deployed to relevant communities in the Pacific. The Osmosun teams are currently structuring financing in this direction. The numerous contacts initiated during this year spent on site have enabled Osmosun to create a network of partners which will facilitate the deployment and sustainability of projects once they are financed… On the stock market, the stock rises by 2.7% to 8.66 euros. For Portzamparc, the group is implementing its commercial strategy announced during the IPO. At a time when the problems of “water stress” are increasing, the analyst remains a buyer on the file, targeting a price of 9.60 euros.
